The League Football Association has become a member of the World Leagues Forum. The elite organisation brings together leagues from all over the world, and helps them act politically and sportingly contributing to the overall development of all those involved.

The League Football Association thus becomes a member of a second strong and respected organisation. Since 2018, the LFA has been a member of European Leagues where it managed to achieve a significant diplomatic success by organising the forty-sixth General Assembly of the association last year.

Now the LFA has joined the World Leagues Forum. Members consist of elite European competitions such as the Premier League, La Liga, and Bundesliga, but there are also leagues from other continents – the US MLS, Australian APL, Japanese J.League and many others. The chairman of the organisation is the Premier League boss Richard Masters.

"We are pleased to have become a member of such an influential organisation. We perceive this step as further confirmation of growing reputation and strengthening of Czech professional football not only locally but also internationally. We believe that membership in the World Leagues Forum will further bolster the credit of Czech football resulting in the growth of the most popular sport in our country," said Tomáš Bárta, Executive Director of the LFA.

"Thanks to successful hosting of the European Leagues Assembly in Prague in 2023, we have kept gaining attention and prestige in the diplomatic field, which is something we would like to build upon within the World Leagues Forum. We wish to be an audible voice in yet another important organisation, and I strongly believe that, by co-operating with one another, we can offer valuable experience and knowledge to others. Particularly in the field of business and marketing where we are currently coming up with a new strategy for the next five years," said LFA Sales and Marketing Director Daniel Hajný.

The mission of the World Leagues Forum is to represent professional football leagues in relation to political and sporting bodies at a global level. It also emphasizes promotion of cooperation and sharing knowledge amongst members.

„We are thrilled to welcome the League Football Association as our newest member. The LFA's recent accomplishments in organizing and advancing professional football in the Czech Republic are truly remarkable. We are excited to work alongside their leadership to keep fostering the league's progress, said Jerome Perlemuter, general secretary WLF.

The WLF was founded in 2017 and brings together approximately 1,100 clubs from all over the world. Its members are professional leagues that are independent of their countries‘ football associations or have at least some degree of independence in organisation and decision-making.

The World Leagues Forum appoints representatives to chosen FIFA committees, and there are regular discussions between the WLF and FIFA on decisions that affect competitions.
