As part of the “League for Ukraine” charity project, the League Football Association organized a sports afternoon for children of Ukrainian families who had to leave their homes before the war. Thanks to the GREEN LIFE foundation fund operated by the LFA, Ukrainian children tried out a football training session and, in cooperation with the Children of Ukraine foundation fund, they could forget the horrors of the war in their country for at least a few hours while playing sports.

In mid-September, the League Football Association invited Ukrainian children to a football camp at the AC Sparta Praha training center. "Our GREEN LIFE endowment fund primarily supports Czech children from socially weaker families at the beginning of their football career. The support takes the form of financial contributions for the parents of such children," said Kamila Brejtrová, the marketing manager of the Liga Football Association, who is in charge of the operation of the Green Life foundation fund. "However, in connection with the war in Ukraine, we have decided that we will also organize one-off events and projects from the funds of our endowment fund, which will be aimed precisely at the children of Ukrainian refugees who found their asylum in the Czech Republic before the war. One of these projects was a children's camp, which took place in the training center of Sparta Prague, to which thanks are due for the loan of equipment and the provision of club trainers," explained Kamila Brejtrová.

A non-profit organization - the association Children of Ukraine, which primarily deals with the teaching and education of Ukrainian children in the Czech Republic, also took part in the organization of the football camp. "We try to provide children with the maximum possible support during the transition to the Czech educational environment. Both children and parents liked the event very much and everyone was extremely happy. Such support is priceless," said Oksana Breslavska, chairwoman of the Children of Ukraine association, during the football camp.

The sports programme included exercises for general movement development as well as special football exercises. There were also a number of fun physical attractions on the field, and at the very end of the sports afternoon, the Ukrainian children played a model football match. Several dozen children took part in the event and some of them expressed interest in continuing their football career in Czech clubs. The League Football Association therefore put them in touch with local youth teams. "The children visibly enjoyed the whole afternoon, there were a lot of smiles, joy of movement and good mood, which was actually the main goal of the whole event," concluded Kamila Brejtrová from the LFA.
